Is it normal?

$200 for jeans, you guys are a bunch of Metro's.
If I'm spending $200.00 it going for a lap dance with a Single Mom ( that should appease that holier than thou poster).

that's why it's called "fashion", everyone has their own. I personally don't think spending $15 or $1500 on jeans is absurd or not, I'm just glad we have a choice to wear what we want to wear and live the way we want to live.
I have my personal opinon of spending $60 on Express jeans and I always shop for sales.
Personally, I would like to see a pair of I could get from Goodwill and wear anyday and I would like to see a pair of kimono inspired hand stitched jeans.
Think about it, some people think it's crazy we spend large amounts money on just a mode transportation, others think it's fine to have a Ferrari collection. That's what makes us different.

I'm somewhat of a denim snob and will pay $100-$200 for jeans. One thing that makes people obsessed with denim is "dry" or "raw" denim, which are jeans that are dipped in dye and have never been washed. After a few months of wear without washing your jeans, the denim forms unique wear patterns and you will see wallet outlines on back of pockets, whiskering in the crotch area. It is basically a blank canvas. You can really tell the difference between the pre-distressed designer mall jeans from raw jeans with real world wear.
That said, I hope that any guy who wears seven, diesel, rock and republic, true religion, and other overpriced mall jeans were given them as a gift from their girlfriend. Seven and True Religion in particular are girls jeans. You are basically paying a lot for a little bit of pocket stitching. If you can get them at outlets for the price that they are really worth, <$100, then go for it.
Also for those who don't know, the crazy expensive Evisu is meant to be worn by asians and blacks, no offense. It's kind of like the denim version of bathing apes. You know, the clothing company with the pink Bugatti?
For the guy looking for quality denim with no ridiculous back pockets, check out APC, 5EP, or Kicking Mule Workshop (KMW)

I am "very" particular about my pants. Typically I can find jeans around $100 that I'm happy with. J.Crew makes a well constructed jean with quality materials, in a good fit, for right around $100.
Someone mentioned Lucky jeans. You really have to look for a quality pair, the Lucky jeans that you find in department stores feel (to me) much lower quality than in an actual lucky store.
Suit pants are a different story. I'm having a pair cut for me right now. I got an amazing deal on a misordered 3-piece wool suit. Only draw back is that the pants need to be custom made for my fit.
