...what are your feelings about people pointing out spelling errors in posts? I realize some people do not care and just type the way they do, but if you make a simple mistake in your sig or avatar, would you be insulted if a board member pointed it out to you through a PM?

I've noticed when people are arguing, the first attack is usually on someone's grammar or typo rather than the argument itself. This a message board, not your senior thesis.

I know, that's why I brought up the point about it being through a PM. I don't want to embarrass anyone, I just thought they might want to know there is a mistake.
I notice it more on another site I frequent, but I thought I would bring it up here. This is a more mature site than the other one, although this one has its moments.

**EDIT** Change made. Thanks for the PM

I don't no. Thats a tough won. Ide create a knew s2ki account and PM the person with the knew account. That way, theirs know way of them noing.

...but seriously, I've had to take breaks from this site for that very reason. I loathe grammatical errors.

I know you meant "its" and not "it's".

A spelling Nazi I don't mind, but a grammar Nazi... Brings back horrific memories of my 7th grade English teacher and my pathetic essays drenched in red ink.

It doesn't take but a few seconds to use the available Spell Check feature.

My original post was o.k. as well and the spell check didn't pick up the mistake. I wish I could say I did it intentionally, but.....
