Now that Kazaa is gone
You can try using the Direct Connect network. There's plenty of action going on there.

And here to download a good client:

BitTorrent looks like a good alternative too, but I haven't found many good sites that have BitTorrent links yet. http://www.suprnova.org seems to be the best but it has been down lately.
Of course if all else fails you can always go onto good old IRC...

You know, I'm wondering if the RIAA somehow crosses a line in determining the IP addresses of people downloading music.
It's been a while since I've used any of these programs (and perhaps I'm just ignorant) but is it even possible to read IP addresses directly from there? If not, how exactly is the RIAA getting the IP address of these people? Anyone know?

Downloading files is reported to the RIAA (headed by Jack Velente) By Microsoft. the win XP o/s is total spyware. But, the geenie is out of the bottle. file sharing can't be stoped. I saw the same crap when VCR's first came on the set. But the so-called lawsuits are to intimidate mostly parents & universities. your basic Police state scare tactic. It won't float. By the way, I'm a musician and the only people ripping us off are the record companies. Sorry to be so long winded, this is my mission.
