Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't coverage of the 2000 olypics horrible? This year NBC plans to show every event on their networkds I think. And I am very excited about the olympics particualry soccer and weightlifting.
I thought the coverage of the 2000 Olympics was horrible. Maybe it's just me, but I expect 24/7 coverage. I don't have the time or money to make it to the games, but I sure expect more than highlight clips on Sportscenter.

Let me be the first to start an Olympics thread. You can post anything here that's Olympic-related.

^^^ Nope, if I haven't seen it, then I'd still see myself as the first.
The Olympic is still very exciting to me. I hope to go to the next one, most likely.

By the way, I am sure I was not the first to post about this Olympic. And it is still exciting, but it lost something for me when professional atheletes were allowed to compete.

You mean the one in Beijing, China? Should be very crowded, because you and a billion Chinese would all want to be there.

There's nothing wrong with allowing pro athletes to compete, as long as they're good enough and qualified. The Olympics is all about being the best, and if anyone is good enough to compete, he/she should be allowed, no matter if that person is considered a pro athlete or not. Afterall, aren't the Olympic athletes considered professional, since they are at the top of their games and it is there profession?
