it depends. If I thought she was hot, and just wanted to hit it, I'd just go along with it. The fact that she was lying would make me see her as nothing more than a fling. However, if she came up to me and smiled and said hello, and we just started having a regular conversation, I'd be thinking maybe this could be a keeper

I would be worried that she had me mistaken for someone else.

I can't speak for everyone, but I FALL OVER MYSELF when ANY woman has the courage to come up and say "Hi." REALLY SEXY! Maybe I'm just easily flattered, but it's a real esteem booster...

If a girl came up to me with that line I would immediately know she is lying. I am a recovering workaholic and did not meet many people the last 10 years. If she really knew me I would have said hello as soon as I saw her.

I would be a little stand offish at first but I'd give her some time. The fact that she was lying so obviously is a minus but then again most first liners are not completely true. Now, if she kept up the lying, like agreeing to everything I say or liking the exact same things I do, well, I'd cut her off. I find it 99% impossble for that to happen. Besides, it would be boring as hell, like dating myself! :-)

I like the line, when they come up and say. " I think ive seen you somewhere before."

To which i reply really? Where could you have seen me. Silence or an "ummmm" if its a lie i'll break up the silence and ask where they live and stuff but , if its a quick response im all game.

I had a girl come onto me one time - I was actually reading on a bench at the time and she leaned over to me and said "Do I know you?" I said, "I don't think so", to which she replied, "I think we met on George St. the other night". George St. is where the big bar scene is here in the city. I don't drink (never have).

I told her as much. She blushed and went her way.

I wasn't interested, period (I was taken) but despite the mistake, I was flattered.

In short, no, I don't think it matters what you say. All that matters is that you're interested.
