That's why Cali is nicknamed "Commiefornia" for legislation such as this and "San Francisco Values" preached by Ms. Pelosi.
California is such a beatiful state and it does have everything you could ever want in terms of terrain and climate, but damn! Stop with these socialist policies!!! I'm surprised there is such a high obesity rate in LA from what I'm reading on this post. Is it really true? LA's climate is so awesome and so conducive to being outdoors, I don't know why. I'm in Miami, which is as plastic as LA so I'm sure there are a lot of active people in LA, like in Miami, as opposed to other parts of the country where the climate is not as favorable.

The area in question is poor, ethnic and uninterested in politics. If these "socialist policies" have to stop, then isn't it up to the "people" to stop them?
California may be liberal in some parts, but we sure aren't communist as a whole, just ask our governor.
Well it's expensive to eat healthy...or so it seems. Look at the price of fresh fruits and vegetables, then compare those prices to what it costs to eat at a fast food place. Fat and salt are cheap...
I've heard that while fast food places are doing well (they're cheap, duh) and high-end places too (most patrons already had plenty of money) it's the mid-range restaurants that are really hurting (such as, Bennigan's and Steak & Ale.) Those with money will continue with the high-end restaurants, and those looking to save will instead opt for the fast-food joints.
Meaning, in my estimation, that a moratorium on new fast-food restaurants will simply mean no new restaurants period, rather than an increase in mid-range, supposedly "healthier" sit-down places. I mean, c'mon, is a Bennigan's Monte Cristo (ham and cheese sandwich, breaded and deep-fried, topped with powdered sugar, with french fries and raspberry jam on the side) all that healthier than a McDonald's grilled chicken sandwich?

Hehe ... gotta love Cali hatred.
As much as I realize Cali has flaws, I've been to other parts of the country and I will take those flaws knowing what I've experienced elsewhere.
I recently had my GF's friend stay with us for a little. He was from Chicago, IL. Dude didnt want to go back lol ..almost begging.
I thought Houston and other Texas cities were the fatter cities no?
