Only cool Honda commercial in history?
I searched before I decided to post this, because I know its a bit old. I couldn't find anything so I decided to post it. I have always made comments to my better half how companies like Nissan, Toyota and BMW always have inspiring, action packed commercials. honda on the other hand, bores us to death with three guys talking about licenses or two chicks asking for directions at a gas station. Come on now, a company that historicly has prided itself on it racing heritage should do better than that, if for nothing more than entertainment's sake.
So anyway, here is a video I just saw which seems to be the only and closest thing to a "cool" commercial from Honda. Maybe we can see some more in the future.

The point is that it's not a boring comercial about how economical and reliable Honda cars are. If the company is so into it's racing heritage, it should show a little excitement, instead of the geriatric comercials we get now. And, not to say that this comercial is a "good selling point", but like the ricers or not, it at least doesn't require a drool cup to watch.
I guess you guys don't remember all of the great commercials Honda was making in the late '90's when they were in CART. Some great ones with Alex Zanardi taking his driving test, Gil de Ferran delivering packages for FedEx and some other great ones. They may not have made any great ones lately that I've seen, but they definitely have made commercials using their racing ties and they were hilarious.
I take it you missed this Honda commercial http://www.honda.co.uk/newcars/accord300k.html

I don't really see how the Civic Nation commercial is a good thing. I'm sure it was intended to intise the younger crowd, but after watching it, it actually made deslike the civic even more. It's already looked upon as "a boring civic that everyone has"...now it just advertises that if you try to modify it and set yourself apart from the crowd, you'll have the same hooked ricer that every other teenager has. And then saying "represent"..that just a huge mistake. What are they supposed to be representing? A bunch of ghetto ricers?
Don't get me wrong, I love Honda and I think the Civic is a great car (for a 16 year old daughters first car) but Honda could have spent their advertising dollars in a much better way...like an S2000 commercial!

I saw the Accord comercial and thought it was pretty lame. I am not talking about a lack of clever comercials, I want to see some action packed, high revving, exciting comercials. Granted Honda's lineup is less than exciting save for the S2000. I really see no need for an S2000 comercial since they sell such a small ammount of them and they basicly sell themselves. Maybe if the S was in a comercial that was more or less advertizing for the whole company..... Whether you like the ricers or not, at least the comercial didn't have birds chirping in the back ground and make you feel like you just took a tranquilizer after watching it. That accord one did for me though.. the fastest thing moving in the video was a tire rolling accross the floor.
