Default Ostrich Burger?

Anyone ever tried Ostrich meat? Had an Ostrich Burger at the local Fuddruckers last night, my gf had eaten them there before and she actually got into an argument with the management because she swore what we had been served was ground beef, not Ostrich. Can anyone tell the difference? It looked/tasted like ground beef to me, but the restaurant says Ostrich burgers resemble beef burgers closely. Anyone have any knowledge about this?

Uhhhh... I just had Ostrich Chili from a restaurant I frequent because we know the chef. I can tell you that it looks and tastes much like ground beef.

ostrich meat is red and looks just like a filet. i've had it at this place called the Marine Room down in La Jolla. pretty good. had to use a fork and knife cuz it was served like a filet mignon.

mmmmmmMMMMMmm

I hate to pick a fight, but based on what I've researched on the web and what you guys are saying, I think we were served Ostrich burgers and my gf was wrong to say it wasn't. In ground-up form, it does look almost identical to beef, also tastes nearly the same. Much lower in fat and cholesterol though.

I've seen a place that serves up and sells Ostrich meat in chinatown off of Clay accross the street from that playground. Never stepped in...

Yech. I like beef burgers.

Alligator is the best, though.
