Actually i think mad cow disease comes from sheep. The infectious agent is called a 'prion' (an infections protein that is a bad mofo... can resist 120 degrees celcius in an autoclave for over an hour). Cows got it because some cattle farmers in england let the standards go lax on treating (irradiation i believe) the sheep feed that the cows ate!

Ostrich tastes different to ground beef. It may look the same but it is MUCH leaner and carries less of that "fatty" taste. I have had it several times and I can not confuse it anymore. To someone that has never had it, it could be a little difficult to tell.

I've had and my wife and I buy it whenever we can at the grocery store. We can even get filets. Just like beef only leaner, less fat, on that note it's more like wild game meat, without the game taste.

i had it at the local fuddruckers and it is actually pretty good. i think it is healthier too... you can only tell the slightest difference. none if you didn't know.
