I don't care for links simply because most of the time I'm on this site I'm at work, and by opening a link I'm not sure what to expect i.e. open up a link to an article or video and see some big-breasted chick on the side telling me she's single and wants to chat.
Plus, I waste enough time on this site - I'd rather spend that time interacting with people instead of watching something that may or may not be funny/disturbing whatever.

As best as I see it, there are a couple of types of OT threads that don't deliver:
Type 1 - Posting a link to crap we've all seen. No commentary, just a link.
Granted, if something is funny, then it's funny. However, you JUST MIGHT WANT to tell us why YOU think it's funny. Add some content of your own you douches! It's your witty or blatantly stupid 2 cents that keeps me coming back!
Type 2 - Commenting on something without putting a link in for reference.
Now, this gets kind of tough. For instance, the Paris Hilton out of jail thing; that's posted and commonly-known news. However, I do consider it proper netiquette to post a link to a news story regardless.
Type 3 - One sentence rants.
If you're gonna go off, then go off. If I need somebody to tell me "Dontcha hate it when. . . ," I'll go listen to Seinfeld or watch Andy Rooney.
Type 4 - Too much shit with too little formatting
seriously, if you gonna post something thats long, take the time out and use proper punctuation, and yeah lol, dont tell me that you cant type n stuff cuz lets face it if you wanna have stuff deliver in a thread you gotta format it lol and while im at it dont get all with the tangents about how everbody in your family cant type and omg your cuzin is theworse one and the other day she sent you a TM you couldnt read because it was all jacked up n stuff omg wtf this guy in an SRT4 totally rolled up on my element and tried to race me and its just totally off the hook and omg im sorry that i didnt format this but i know yall no what im talkling bout.
