I'm considering doing some remodeling to my kitchen. One aspect would be to take down some island hanging cabinetry from the ceiling. Unfortunately, that will mean the range hood will come down as well. I would *like* to stay "in code" and therefore would like to consider a ceiling-mounted range hood.

Anyone here work in the appliance / retail business that distributes such hoods? These $1K+ prices are simply ridiculous


...sure would be nice if someone did knockoffs of these Italian babies like with do with bodykits for our S2000s ...
