Our M Coupe spec commercial!
This is kind of off-topic for you S2k guys (which I guess is why I posted it in the OT forum), but I thought some of you might enjoy this anyway, seeing as how quite a few of you have sat shotgun or shared the track with me at S2kCA events...
My buddy Ryan and I sat down a while ago with the goal of creating a creative, fun 30 second short film. After much deliberation, this is what we came up with - a "spec" commercial for the BMW M Coupe! You can check it out on the main "home" page at Trackfreak.com!
For those that are interested in what was involved on the production side, it took about a week's worth of writing and storyboarding, two days to shoot it (one for B-roll and one for the meat footage), and about a week for editing, color correction, and sound design. We shot the film using Sony's 3-chip PD-150, a pro-sumer version of the VX2000. It was then captured on a Power Mac G4 through Firewire, edited in Final Cut Pro 3, and color corrected using Magic Bullet in Adobe After Effects. Finally, the footage was compressed into QuickTime and MPEG formats for the web using Media Cleaner Pro 5.
In any case, I hope you enjoy the spot! Any comments would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
Kevin
