paris & jail
First of all, NOBODY gets 40 (or even 23) days in jail for a first-time DUI. The judge was making an example of her, simply because of her public image.
However, if she hadn't become (even more) rich by creating that image, she would have certainly got my sympathy.
I don't care who you are, three weeks without any entertainment, especially when you probably don't know how to read, sucks.

Putting her in general population would just be stupid. It would be asking for a massive law suit if anything happened to her.
How about we take up a collection to keep her in jail. Who's in?

lindsey lohan, britney spears, nicole richie.... they should all join paris and make a new reality show in jail. have a competition between all of them and who ever wins gets out of jail first!
She didn't get jail time for just driving with a suspended license. Or just for a DUI. She got her license suspended for a DUI and continued driving, she was busted driving while her license was still suspended. So it is also violating her probation. Believe it or not, Paris is a repeat offender. Most judges that see the same person in their courtroom more than once do tend to start acting a little more strict.
Maybe she didn't think that she was above the law but to me it sure seems like she did. So now that she has screwed up and did get jail time, I don't think that she should be allowed any special treatment there. That just reinforces the thought that she is not a mere peasant like the rest of us non-celebs.
I can't believe I just typed that much about that skank.

well in some ways it sucks to be a celebrity. i mean, how fair is it that because you are a high profile celebrity, your life more or less gets plastered all over the news and tabloids or having the paparazzi following you virtually anywhere and everywhere and invading your privacy?? sure celebrities getting special treatment may seem unfair to us non celebrities, but the way i see it, it just somewhat balances out some of the unfairness they have to endure from society.
They have a need to be seen, and we sad Americans just eat it up. I am as guilty as anyone I guess, as I just opened a thread entitled 'Paris & Jail'...
How can any of you feel sorry for the the celebs go through? Nobody made them be famous, they could very easily give away all their assets and move to some remote part of the country/world and people would quickly forget about them. These people get paid huge bucks to do basically nothing a lot of the time. For all the millions they bring in I'd put up with people following me around constantly.
