Yea the price is really good, and they still profit, because dealer price is $199.99. When I was buying mine, I found an internet store that sold it for $235, and luckily it was in Houston, where I live. So I made a trip to that store and found out that it was located at a vacated office in some alley . Then my friends who worked at Bestbuy hooked me up with one for store cost, $199.99.

And yes, I don't think the V1 is worth it. In the reviews that I've seen, its a bit better than the 8500 at best. A bit better doesn't translate to dishing out another $150 for it though.

 

And, I know this is off-thread again, but I sent my 8500 back to Escort a few months ago because the windshield mount (an arguably weak design) was coming loose too often. Even though my unit was 14 months old and out of warranty, they put a new case on mine, and upgraded the radar sensor to current specks. All for free, now that's customer service. If you want to get a V1 upgraded, it's often hundreds of dollars. Mike Valentine makes a good product, but I don't see any point in getting him that fourth yacht.

Just received new unit. factory sealed. everything on the level. took about a week to get this far south. $245 is a great price for this unit (shipping included) average price at most places is 275-299 without shipping. ebay usually sells for about 250 (either used and/or without shipping). make sure you mention s2ki.com if you buy.
