Default Passport Book Vs. Passport Card

Other than the $50 price difference it doesn't look like there is any problem with going with the cheaper card vs. the book.

I need to get a passport for a cruise I'm taking in June. I doubt I will do any traveling out of the US in the coming years except for maybe a cruise or something within the South/Central America or Caribbean areas. And as it shows I'd rather pay $50 than $100 and it looks like there are no issues with the Card.

Wanted to see peoples opinions and if anyone has had any issues.

If you don't plan on going anywhere other than Canada, Mexico & Caribbean/Bermuda go with a card. Although, if you ever have to go elsewhere you'll need a passport book.

If you are paranoid about RFID chips, go with a passport book.

Neither of these documents will prove that you're not a terrorist.

thanks

I'm not paranoid about RFID chips since, as I said, I have a feeling I'll only go on a few cruises, at most, in the 10 year period before the card expires. Then if I'm going to go overseas I'll get the book.

Still haven't made up my mind, but wanted to get others imput

The books have RFID chips in them as well.
