Default PayPal

Hey,
I've been using paypal for awhile now to buy stuff, but am trying to sell something and someone offered to pay me through paypal because it is "safe". I'm pretty fishy already for a few reasons.
-Buyer said they would pay $200 more than I'm asking to ship it.
-Buyer said they are buying it for their cousin who is out on resort but needs this product.
-Buyer wants me to ship it to their cousins house.
I'm pretty sure it's a scam but was wondering if there is anyway for me to get the payment and wait to make sure it's legit then send it out, or can the payment be retracted at anytime? Thanks for the help.

I sold an item on ebay a few years ago.. When i received payment via paypal i promptly shipped the item.
The lady received the item and LEFT ME POSITIVE FEEDBACK!
Two weeks later she said she never received it and paypal pulled the money back out of my account, leaving my paypal account in the negative for some time because i never thought to look at it.

Once i did find out I emailed paypal all my msgs from her to I all in a positive tone, sent them my ebay record of her leaving me positive feedback and a tracking number!
Not enough information they said and i guess came to the conclusion i was a fraud.

I told the lady at paypal to get ****ed and i'm never using ****ing paypal again.. still havent to this day

paypal is a scam. i have an account with them and they somehow charged 20 bucks off my credit card for no reason. i called and called and called to get my money back they never took care of me. my bank covered me and put it under the category of fraud, gave my 20 bucks back and i now shy away from using paypal.

lesson of the story, don't use paypal, their service sucks ass and they will not take care of you when shit goes down.

thanks, good to know. So what would be the best way of doing transactions online? I like money orders because even though I know they can be a scam a lot of times but if you have specific ones you use then it's usually not a problem. I either go US Post office or another service..forgot what it's called at the moment.

Paypal is good if you follow some simple rules:

- Only ship to people with a confirmed shipping address
- Ask them for their paypal account email and send a money request
- Make sure that the paypal payment is from the same email account
- CC transactions through paypal are easily disputed, once paypment is received wait until you transfer the funds before you ship the item.
- If worried about the CC thing, only accept a paypal funds transfer
- If really worried - just sell it to someone else.

I have used paypal for almost 10 years, both selling and buying, and have never had a problem.

Couple other thoughts:

- If the funds are a bank check transfer, wait until the funds clear and you can move the cash into your account
- Get their phone, name, address, paypal account number, etc... Then call paypal customer support and verify that it is the account holder.

Paypal sucks.

Use Amazon payments - no fees and safer than Paypal.

The $200 surplus on what you are asking is the biggest flag.
Really...who does that?
