it's a scam, but paypal isn't so bad. get your money out of it immediately though, so if the person does put in a request for their money back or refuse the charge on their credit card, paypal can't take that money away from you.

does it make it any different if they are verified through paypal? or is it just as easy to be scammed from a verified account?

my BF can no longer have a paypal account because he sold a blue tooth headset that he'd NEVER used, was still in the box, etc. he got his payment, shipped the item, and a week after the kid received it he said it was broken. paypal said he had to give the kid his money back, my BF said not until he shipped the item back. the headset came back broken, literally broken in half! out of the packaging, and parts missing. Paypal didn't give a crap, so he pulled his bank account off paypal before they took money out. such a crock.

Paypal is protects the buyer, but never the seller. oh well...

you'll hear the exact opposite from many buyers who didn't get their product, contacted paypal, and found the seller had withdrawn the money already

well, that sucks. did you try calling your bank?

my info was from multiple forum posts of *buyers* who got scammed, tried to fight it through paypal, and were told they couldn't get the money back because the seller already withdrew it.

I've used Paypal for the past 9 yrs. Haven't had a problem as of yet. There have been disputes, all of which were misunderstanding between the other person and I. Everything was cleared up with both parties happy in the end. I currently use Paypal and will continue to until who knows.
