PDA Question?
I have an ipaq5550. its screen is somewhat day light readable. upgrade the display but is it still as readable in bright sunlight.
I like the additional memory and would not trade it for a more rez display.
a vga screen would be last on this list: 80211b, bluetooth are must haves, 89211g would be great. the hardware is very slow and the microsoft software, ppc3, is bloated and unstable, good to get the next rev. both sd&cf card slots would be great. the ipaq5550 audio output is lo power and it will not drive many earphones. mechanicaly the i/o connector is junk. the finger print password needs improvement but it is somewhat working.

I have a Treo 650
Mine is a PDA/phone hybrid. It's a nice screen that is very sharp and readable outside. It has only 32MB ram, but it is nonvolatile. It does have a SD slot. It has internet via sprint's 1xRTT network which is about 100kbps.
It meets my needs. Its multimedia isn't like a pocketPC but it is small and has a phone.
Your needs may be for something larger. I've heard good things about Ipaqs and Axims, though I'm partial to the PalmOS.

I read the true base mode is not VGA? You can switch to true VGA but not all apps will display properly? Anyway, I'm still lugging around a Kyocera 7135. Tempted by the Treo 650 but I don't really need "more" for what I use a phone/PDA for. Bill Gates has enough of my soul so I'm sticking with Palm platforms...
