i'm in the biz myself and would NEVER meet someone at a place like that. It woudl either be at there work or home. it's there own fault for going with the "customers" request for the meeting spot....but then again she could have probably done the same thing if they came onto the lot

won't they be able to catch up to her when she decides to register the car... they can trace the VIN and everything? doesn't seem like something you'd be able to get away with. i guess she could part the car out and make some money that way....but why would you part a benz out?

Usually parting the car out will net more money on the black market. But as Ragingazn said, cars like these go for a small fortune overseas.

It happens more than you would think, right in the dealership. Usually they will hit a bunch of dealerships over a weekend and then split town.

There was a case in Switzerland some years back regarding a Benz dealer and a brand new SL.

A guy comes to the dealership on a scooter, and asks to see an SL. A sales person happily shows him around. After that, the guy says that he wants to buy it, and he'd like to know if he can take it for a spin to show it to his wife. Once again the sales person obliges and so the guy disappears with the car, never to be seen again...

The scooter was of course stolen...

Well DOH!
