People's Liberation brand clothing
I read an article today about China's huge increase in military spending and then realized their army is called the "people's liberation"... and I realized, I've been wearing 'people's liberation' brand jeans and shirts for a while now with no clue what I was doing.... they seemed decent quality and fit well, but now I wonder... am I supporting communism? is that a bad thing? what's the affiliation with the clothing brand and the Chinese military (the clothes are made in China I believe) I feel so confused and uninformed....

I wouldn't worry about it. You're not supporting them more than if you bought something else made there.
Remember, China is a communist nation. The government there has its hands in just about everything. So, almost everything you buy supports the Chinese military in one way or another.
China has been trying to encorage more quasi-private business, but until recently, everything you bought that was made there was made in a government (err, party) run factory.

I see your point clearly and agree, but something seems wrong about wearing something that proudly announces the people's liberation... since it may not support my beliefs, assuming the brand is in fact referring to China's military.
I wouldn't wear "George W. Bush" branded clothing either for the record lol

hmmm, from the company:
"We use the best materials money can buy. Our fabrics come from mills in the U.S. Japan and Italy, to be loomed in Los Angeles."
Interesting, considering the name, and asian influenced prints on some of the clothing line. Just another fad I guess.
