wow... and i thought my threads were dumb.
at least the people are not typing in spanish.... about another 10 years that will be the #1 language in the USA....
with posting.....as long as you get the jist, who cares.... if something is so garbled that it is not readable that is different, but who gives a crap if someone types Loose vs Lose? Mute vs Moot, ****head vs ****head, **** vs ****
I hate anal retentive people...... so GO TUCK YOURSELF IN

no one really cares if anyone made spelling errors in their posts. the point was made many times that it creates a negative impression of the poster.

Glad to see I struck a nerve. I just wonder which of my points hit close to home to you?
The neat thing I like about these types of threads is that it gets people to paying attention. The original post wasn't talking about anyone in specific but post courtesies in general so I won't go back and look at all your posts. We all will make a misteak at some time or another, but some people at least try to get it right and try to be understandable.
I admit that I do tend to put out a run on sentence or two. That's because I think much faster than I can type, but at least mine tend to be simple run ons. I don't end up with complete multiple paragraph run-on posts that are one massive block of type. I try to get it right, a lot don't.
What is even worse about the posts with the massive paragraph run-ons is that most are also devoid of any punctuation, capitalization or thought breaks of any kind. This makes it doubly hard to decipher what the people are trying to say.
This also shows a lack of caring or courtesy on the part of the poster. It's as if the rest of the people on the thread don't matter enough for them to make the effort to get it right. Or else it shows we are dealing with a high school drop out.
As far as people being an idiot for having poor grammar, that was your word not mine. You may be an idiot, I just don't have enough ammunition to tell from your short post. But I can say that you DO jump to conclusions easily.
The point that most people have been trying to make is that your posts do give people an impression of you. Since all we usually have to judge a person by is their writing skills and post intelligence some people don't make a good impression. (high school drop out?)
Just as people judge you by the types of clothes you wear, how well you speak, what kind of car you drive, etc., they judge you by how you appear in your posts. If you appear to be an idiot then people will treat you like an idiot.
But what I said is, "Internet or not it is an attempt at communication and if you fail to get your point over the thread denigrates into a verbal fist fight which could have been avoided with a little effort on the person who spent the effort to post in the first place."

just be careful. alot of times people try to hide their stupidity thru fancy writing and big words. it amazes me how dum some people actually are even tho they have the ability to write well. i say: save the poetry for ur boyfriend dood.

granted s2ki isn't a job application, but to me the point is about presenting yourself even if this is just the internet.
In other words, what and how you post on the internet can become how you write and present yourself in the public eye.
So actually how you post on S2ki could become how you present yourself in a job application or other aspects of your daily life which could cost you a job, a promotion, a raise, a date, a friend, a good tip (if you are a wait person), etc., etc.

I hope you realize that you forgot to capitalize every one of your "I's" and every word at the beginning of every sentence. Pure genius!
This makes me cringe that you don't know how to capitalize.

it makes me cringe when someone applies for a job with me and i see spelling errors on their resume. how much of a chance do you think i or any other employer would give them?
Today knowledge is so specialized, if I am looking through an engineering resume I expect to see a few errors. I normally grill the candidate with a few more technical questions to make sure he/she is 4real if I perceive a clean resume.
maybe they would not hire you.
