Default Photoshop question

Is there a quick way to shrink a bunch of JPEG files in Photoshop? The pictures are in a Macintosh and I want to email them to a friend. The Canon G5 files are too big for emailing more than a few pics at a time. Or maybe there's another program I can use. I don't think I have iPhoto in my Mac. Still a relatively new user to the Mac world. Thanks.

Are you running photoshop CS?

If you are, you can record an action and apply it to a batch of files under the automation command.

You can also create a keyboard shortcut under the same actions command and apply it manually to each photo.

If this doesn't make sense let me know and I'll walk you through it.

If you have any Photoshop, the action is a good idea. If you have a Mac, iPhoto will export your images if you have it, but so should any software that came with the camera. Just load it on the Mac and use that.

See if you have iPhoto - go to the applications folder (just press apple+a) and look for it - if you have an iMac, you have it.

PS7 also utilizes actions (just so you know it started before PSCS).

^^ Yes, but what I meant was that CS has the automate function so you can do it without having to manually apply it to each photo.

^^ That is a feature (batching) that dates back to PS6.
