yeah that the 101st airborne division insigna(sp), the screaming eagles. my favorite army division along the 82nd airborne division. is every guy in your unit a ranger like you or only a handful? i thought rangers are special foces and they have their own units like the ones at ft benning, georgia.. i didn't know there are rangers in the regular army division.. how does this work? thanks..
i say about 20% of Infantry officers in the 101st is a Ranger qualified and about 10% in the Army are Ranger qualified.
You have to go to Ranger school to be Ranger qualified and after that you can go to Ranger Battalion.
Being Special Forces doesnt mean that you are a Ranger. I cant go Ranger Battalion until one year later and I will try out for Special Forces in about a 1 1/2 year.

hey young_r i was thinking of joining the army too.
thought of getting into rotc while im in college and finish up school then head into service for a few years after as an officer with rank of 2nd lt.
