Picture wise, it might have benefited me but the experience it wouldnt have done much good. While driving the renta car 08 Impreza, on Bush Hwy(about 20 minutes above you) I was wishing the whole way that I had my S2000 there or on horseback....but I was in an automatic impreza wagon only.

what lens are you using? are any of those HDRs and if not, how are you getting balanced foreground exposure with the sun in the shot?

#2, #12, #20, #25 was shot with the Canon 70-200L

#19 was shot with the Tamron 17-55IS 2.8

The rest was shot with the Sigma 10-20

No none of them are true HDR, but some of them are simulated HDR pictures. Although I did shoot plenty of shots for HDR, thats for later though. How I got those shots with the sun is pretty much using high f stop and tinker with the shutter speed. Then of course, PP.

I went to the Grand Canyon a couple of years back and as great as your pictures are it just doesn't give the full effect. I had seen pictures and movies and just took it as it is, after being there in person and seeing it I get that feeling deep down of being there all over again. Great pictures and Sedona is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been, spent many weekends there camping. For those that have never been, you should really look into taking a trip to experience it for yourself.

My camera did not do this place justice at all, you would have to be there to know what I'm talking about.

CG how was the weather when you were there? I kinda gambled on my trip there and it paid off. Plenty of clouds as you can see.
We gambled too and got somewhat lucky. We were a few hours behind a big snowstorm so everything was covered in snow or ice from Sedona north. We got a number of great photo's but not up to the standard you set. I don't think it got up to 20 degrees while we were there. We got up to take sunrise photos the 1st morning and it was so foggy until noon that you couldn't see 15 feet into the canyon. I haven't loaded my pictures anywhere that I can post them yet or I'd add a few.

I see. That must have been a bummer, to go there and not be able to take the typical shots you see in magazines or websites. Atleast you saw it though, thats what counts.

Great pics! One of my own from the GC. Had to climb down some tricky shiet to get here for my buddy to snap a pic, but the place is unbelieveably grand.

See, I could have done some crazy shit like that but I had no second shooter. I know what you mean though, it doesnt look deep but going down there will take some nerves. Great memory shot.
