Pioneer to end plasma tv production
I bought a 50 inch Pioneer Plasma... It out performed ALL the other TV's I saw, LCD and Plasma...
Here's Cnet's review of it. It's listed as their TOP HDTV.... Even if it is only running 720ish (IIRC, Plasma's run a different res than typical TV's). I understood that it converts the signal down to the correct res for the TV. And if you read about the difference between like... 720 and 1080p, most credible sources say the difference is negligible, from proper viewing range...
Edit: forgot the link... Sorry. Here it is, It's the Pioneer PDP-5080

BTW: The blacks on this thing are AMAZING.... It literally blends into the black frame, because it is that dark. Even with no surround lighting, the black is AMAZINGLY deep, and even in ULTRA dark scenes, or where the is a black object, that has shadows (Like a black suit, ETC), the difference is AMAZINGLY noticable. I'm truely amazed by this Plasma. When CNET complains about the TV being expensive, it's when the price was listed for $5,000. Best Buy recently dropped the price down to $2249.99, From the $2,499.99 when I bought it (I got them talked down to $2,299.99 though, Maybe you guys can get lucky and talk them down a little lower).
