with all of the fallouts of airlines in the last year: vangard, national and now possibly united, how do you feel about purchasing plane tickets in advance?

 

With the larger airlines its not a risk, United for example is still honoring the tickets.

 

I fly on United next week. I hope all goes well.

Food for thought: A friend just flew United back from Caracas VZ. This was right after United found out they weren't getting any government backing. He said they were treated like total crap by the ticket agents. They told he and his girlfriend, who has over a million miles with United, that they were the reason for the bankruptcy. All the perk that the frequent flyers demand are ruining their business. Hmmm, maybe it's the surly ticket agents?
