Planning a trip...
I'm planning a trip to the West Coast in early December and am starting to budget for it. The trip would consist of:
Flying from Philly to San Fran, car rental, 2 nights hotel there, driving to LA, 2 nights there, driving to San Diego (staying with family), flying out of San Diego after about a week there.
I'm really excited about this trip but I wanted to know if there are any really good deals on flights/hotels around that time of year and where I can find them. I'd like to stay at nice hotels, possibly with local flair. It doesn't need to be the equivalent of the Waldorf but I'd like to avoid Best Western, etc. I've taken into account money for food, gas, and spending cash. Hopefully I can plan this all-inclusively for less than $2K. Thanks

When i stayed in San Fran, I stayed at this rather nice, cheap place called The Mayflower. Its in downtown and in the middle of almost everything, and its definitely worth taking a look at. Other than that, I'm not much help =/
