^ Not doubting that Shift_9k but in America, there are far more people who'd rather see Asians as Fu Man Chus than Perfect English speaking people. Martin Yan for instance caught on to this a long time ago. He's making millions and when I met up with him several years ago at a food show, he spoke perfect, unbroken English!!! A total departure from his TV personality.

Im not asian but if someone paid me to talk and accent and walk around like an ass.... id do it, especially if the money was in the millions.
I dont blame hung for doing what hes doing, hes a funny guy. Regardless of his nationality, if some big african american man, or some native american man, or indian man went up there and sung that song with their respective accent(s) it would be funny, especially if they looked like nerds that went to berekley.

I think you guys have got him all wrong. His dream was to be an entertainer, and that's what he's doing now. I don't believe he thinks it's a joke at all. He's got some serious balls and some even more serious determination to do what he's doing now.

Dude's up to about 14 minutes so far, so just relax and hang on for a little while longer, he'll be off the air soon enough. 
Being a novelty will get you so far, but eventually the fascination wears off, and without serious entertainment skills, he isn't going to last. Singing like a doofus is kind of amusing in a mocking / satirical sort of way, but the only way William Hung is going to "make it" in the long run is if he goes into acting or something other than singing.
Personally, I can't stand the guy and have no clue why there's such an obsession with him, but I honestly can't blame him for capitalizing on his opportunity. If I got paid to make an ass out of myself, I'd do it too. Hell I already do it everyday for free.
