I agree with DPKs sentiments but also agree thats its rude to say it to the person whos going through a tough time.
Wishing them both the best of luck and a speedy recovery.

I find it odd that people desire to pray in times of bad, and could care less in times of good. double standard?

beanseff, sorry to hear of the terrible situation your family is in. Your poor brother in law is going to have a long recovery. Fortunately he will recover. I'm not much for prayer, but I'll keep you and your's in my thoughts.
DPK is a bitch.

update #2
we finally got home around 2:00, meg has to wait to get a cast on her leg because of the swelling, as for my brother in law, it's not looking good
his brain is swelling and they have to do surgery to relive the pressure
fellas i'm going to be honest i don't know how to tell my 3 yr old son what happened to his mommy

That breaks my heart. I feel for you man. Be strong for the little one. Tell him mommy is sick and in the hospital but don't let him see her unless you can hide as much of the injury as possible. It's pretty traumatic and impossible for a little one to understand.
Sounds like your brother in law is in bad shape. How old is he? Despite a burr hole, and his other injuries, young people still recover from injuries like that.
