we finally got home around 2:00, meg has to wait to get a cast on her leg because of the swelling, as for my brother in law, it's not looking good
his brain is swelling and they have to do surgery to relive the pressure

fellas i'm going to be honest i don't know how to tell my 3 yr old son what happened to his mommy

That breaks my heart. I feel for you man. Be strong for the little one. Tell him mommy is sick and in the hospital but don't let him see her unless you can hide as much of the injury as possible. It's pretty traumatic and impossible for a little one to understand.

Sounds like your brother in law is in bad shape. How old is he? Despite a burr hole, and his other injuries, young people still recover from injuries like that.
