Default Plumbing issue...HELP?

Well, the weather here is getting very cold. The last couple of days were the worst. In my basement, I have a full bathroom and for some reason, when I tried to use it today (I use it everyday and did so last night too), water in the toilet won't refill. Basically, I go to flush it and there is no water inside the top tank. I tried pouring water into there then flushing, but to no avail I even used warm water, thinking it might help, based on the cold. I also turned off the water then back on and still nothing. What can it be? Think the pipes for ONLY that froze? The rest of the bathroom works normal (sink and shower). I dont get it....HELP!

thanks in advance.

Yikes....Bob Ryan said this is the coldest it's been in Dec. in 15 years! It was 6 degrees this morning.

On another note, Thursday it should be in the 50's, your toilet might resume working.

In my previous house, we had a bathroom in the basement that was situated on the garage wall. One very cold morning the toilet would not flush. Turns out that the pipe on the garage wall had frozen. I took a hair dryer, set it to low and warmed up the pipe.

I then bought an electric pipe warming wire and it never happened again.
