I bought chips on eBay and love them - they're among the nicest I've seen in person (two-tone clay, all-clay 11.5g) - but if I did it again I would buy the best from Kem for just a little more. Kem makes the world's best playing cards. They're $33.50 for two decks but they're all-plastic and are frickin' dishwasher safe (not even sharpies can mark them). They are supposed to last for a decade in weekly poker games. They now sell high quality chips too.

Kem and U.S. Playing Card Company (makers of Bicycle and Bee) are making the World Poker Tour sets and the stuff used in the tournament. My company is planning on reselling that licensed gear sometime soon, before TV coverage starts up again. (The site below is Kem's not mine )

Check them out. The box may not be inlaid wood, but I can almost guarantee that the chips and cards are on another level

You can just assign a value to each color.

no poker chips are made out of clay now. they're composites.

those chips have a nice box. but u can find ones that fit your style on ebay for less and even more chips.

No, that's not true. The best chips are all clay. Check the link I posted above... Composite chips are certainly more common but all-clay chips are easy to find as well.

These chips are 100% clay and weigh 10 grams each.

Regarding felt, don't know what your looking for but I built a temporary table using a sheet of plywood, thin closed cell foam rubber, felt and spray adheasive.

Pretty simple....
plywood,
spray adheasive
foam
spray adheasive
felt

it was only temporary but it worked real well...casino felt is almost like a cloth with low knap (sp?).
