Poker: This Sucks Too...
saying you would not tip a dealer tells me you have not spent much real time in casinos playing dealer based games.
Hence my line in my post. It is clear that you do not frequent nor know how to conduct yourself in a casino. I was not flaming you but you spoke about an aspect of gaming you know little or nothing about.
You make my point for me.

I have never been a whale or high roller coming into a casino, but, by simply playing well while at a table and tipping well, I have been noticed several times by floor bosses and have been comped numerous dinners and hotel rooms from simply treating the staff nicely.
If I do well at a table I tip but only when I'm leaving the table....
Say I gamble at a table for five hours and tip after every nice hand I win, but at the end of the five hours I'm down a Grand. Why tip? However, if after the five hours I'm up then a tip based on my winnings is always in order.
I agree... tipping is different based on the games you are playing but my point to tritium was the concept of tipping dealers at casinos is no different than tipping any service oriented employee.
You tip a Bell Hop, Server, cocktail waitress, hairdresser etc etc, the dealer is the same boat. It is not an obligation or demanded by any means but it is considered polite and the correct thing to do, just like any other tipping situation.
