Default Police Officers

Hey Everyone, I have been trying to get my foot in the door with different police agencies around the area. Does anyone know any departments that are hiring New recruits in Kentucky or the surrounding states, I am going through the process with Indiana State Police.

Kentucky State, Louisville Metro, and Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement all require 2 years/60hrs. of college. Which I do not have at the moment.

Do any of you have any suggestions of how I can get my career started?

Thanks in advanced

How about 2 years and 60 hours of college at a local community college, I know that they offer it at the one I am going to.

College requirements are starting to become the norm rather than the exception. I suggest enrolling, unless you want to move to Philly and apply here, since you don't need a degree or credits.

University Police. It's not the same as "real" police, but it's a foot in the door, AND you can go to school at the same college.

Two birds, one stone.

Good point, but only if it's real, armed police and not just security.

I have a few friends at the Seattle PD. They are hiring. However, I'm not sure about their current requirements.

It's a real PD; just can't operate off campus IIRC.

our university police are armed...i think its a good route but i would be hesitant because of the type of work you will be doing...ours do a lot of opening buildings in off hours, picking up drunk kids, and breaking up house parties. maybe some speed monitoring and cross walk stuff too.
