there is camera footage, everyone knows it... the truth will come out once that is aired for everyone. if it's the latter case, then at the *very least* there'll be an enormous wrongful death suit and hopefully the cop will get charged with something. you don't just open fire into a house without even having a legitimate target.
I agree with this.
Despite what might be perceived by some after reading my post above

Pretty good all-around post.
I am NOT condoning what the police did, just offering a different point of view:
The police didn't throw a flash grenade into a kindergarden class, they went to the location where a suspected murderer was believed to be hiding. Going on visual profiling alone, look at how the people in the image are dressed and presenting themselves. Their outward appearance and clothing matches that of many questionable/criminal types. I greyed out the peoples' skin so there's no confusion about what I'm pointing out, and I think it's interesting to remove that as a factor here, for this purpose.
My point in bringing this up, is that people consort with questionable characters, known criminals, and other individuals who could be hazardous the the safety of themselves and their families. They present themselves with their cothing and appearance in a certain manner. When something happens to their family, they're shocked!
I can tell you one thing; my house, nor the homes of anyone in my family would ever be confused for one housing a suspected murderer. A quick scan of the background of anyone living at any of my family's homes would result in nothing that indicates the remote possibility of such a thing.
If you don't want to be perceived as being a low-life or gang-banging type, stay away from those that do, and those that even project the image.
Again, don't miss my point, I'm putting something out there for additional discussion.
Thanks saved me writing the same.
I don't have any dealings with cops, i lived my life within the confines of the law and don't have to worry about cops lobbing tear gas into my house or discharging weopons...
police carry guns and other scary crap and yeah some are a holes, so don't give them a reson to come over.

I see where you stand, but should I repost the article where LAPD broke into the wrong house, shot the owner and his dog and tried to cover it up? It was in a well to do upper class neighborhood and the man they fatally shot was reading his newspaper at the time, no criminal record and was even a deacon at the church.
None of the officers were ever charged or punished beyond paid vacation.

Only problem with your theory is sometimes they get the address wrong, it does happen. So even if you think your safe your not. Just some food for thought for you.
Now about this thread's subject
tragic
wrong
and certainly not over yet, Its amazing it was being filmed for a reality show and it turned out like this!

That's an interesting example actually. The dog that was shot and killed was a pit bull, a breed that is widely known, perhaps moreso than others, with agressive, vicious, dangerous personality traits. I might've shot the pit bull myself, as I've been attacked by dogs in the past and my first thought when one runs at me is "it's attacking." I likely wouldn't have shot the corgi, but the corgi didn't die, and perhaps the cop was expecting it to be another pit bull when he fired off a shot before fully evaluating the target.
I bring up that it was a pitbull because these situations are similar.
Compare:
1) Cops raid house expecting an established drug house, see a pit bull they think is attacking, and shoot to protect themselves.
2) Cops raid house expecting to find an accused murderer, see motion inside and fire (though the goal shouldn't be to end all life inside).
Either way the little girl shouldn't have died, and the cops are really at fault in this one.
The guardian's of this kid had the little girl in an unsafe place, but the cops pulled the trigger. It's like if you stand a child in the middle of a road - you're an idiot to expect the child to be safe, but ultimately the person who hits the child with their car is likely the one at fault.
I wonder why cops dont have to be licensed to do their job, considering the degree of power they wield. They should be licensed just as any other professional organisation is, and if and when they break the rules they lose that license and can not practice elsewhere afterwards...

He's talking about an entirely different case than yours. Your story happened in Columbia, not LA, and involved a suspected drug dealer, not a deacon in an "upper-class neighborhood".
