Selling things online brings you so many flaky people who'll say they'll buy something then back out... it is never worth it to hold something for the first guy who says "I'll buy it." The first one who PAYS for it, gets it - that's completely fair.

 

Actually, good business practice. The seller did more for your dad than most, in that he took the time to communicate the facts as they transpired. Most internet sellers don't do that in my experience, and leave you wondering..."did it sell?" At least he communicated.
