Man they look agressive ... Sounds like a good idea to eat it, but of course make sure it's not some dirty rogue that will give you a bad stomach later on.

They look like cute little creatures.
The possums in Australia are quite different to the US variety. Yes, ours are very friendly and also nocturnal. We have quite a few in the neighbourhood. They are only a problem if they get in your roof (to nest), then they are very difficult to evict and like most creatures become quite nasty when forced to defend themselves.

We had a mother and child (the mother carries the young on her back) residing up in my children's tree house which is 20' up a pine tree. In order to get it out I had to build a possum box as a home for it. Unfortunately it didn't move into the possum box and eventually a group of bees established a hive in the possum box. It cost me $150 to have an apiarist come along to remove it!

The possums are still living in the pine tree and walk along the fence each night in their nocturnal meanderings - you can see their eyes glowing in the dark as they pass by the window.

U.S. possums aren't mean unless they're forced to fight but they're not afraid of anything either. They don't run from you and if you try to chase them they get mad. A friend of ours raised one as a pet (she's a vet) and it was really sweet and a lot smarter than I expected but it was still ugly as hell.

I live right by a marsh and see possums and skunks all the time. One time, I saw one crawling along my patio wall. He just stared at me and hissed.

not only are these dam things ugly, they are tough as hell. i remmeber a time when i was little when i was at my uncles house and one of those rats on steroids got into a trash can and couldnt get out. my uncle tried everything to kill the beast but nothing worked. he must have stabbed him with a pitch fork 10 times and he still woudlnt die. finally gave up and drowned the thing.

The Australian possums are generally fruit eaters. They are marsupials meaning that they have a pouch. They are not aggressive but if you corner one they can scratch the hell out of you.

Damn, after reading this post, I was driving around last night and almost ran over a HUGE possum. It's head was the size of a dog's head. It was just laying there in the middle of the street. Looks like it was already dead. I hope it wasn't just playing dead.

My mom was doing some yard work when i heard her scream. I ran out to the backyard and at the bottom of the pool was this enormous possum. It was sorta just floating around. It was horrible......

I had to fish it out and put it in a plastic bag to throw away.

It was so ass....i hate these creatures...always in the middle of the road with it's inner organs splattered all over the pavement on my local streets.

Damn devils....
