a shame for sure...

what I don't understand is the amount of people that are willing to pass judgment...yes, she was 18...but...haven't we all done stupid stuff when we were that young?

just be grateful you are here today...let her poor soul rest...period.

so sad...

wow... that's more than a little disturbing.

i'm sure a lot of us have driven that fast or even faster on the interstate. if those pics have convinced even 1 person to slow the hell down, then they've done their job.

ugh, for those who haven't clicked on the pics, DONT

can someone explain the pics to me. it looks like the villian in blade trinity who could split himself in half.

many people would say oh poor girl since she's young and pretty, but what she did was just stupid and selfish. its tough to say she deserved it, but how badly would it suck if the people in the civic ended up splattered across the toll booth and she walked with scrapes?

I don't want to sound mean, but I bet that Civic driver's thinking, "so that's what happens when I drive the speed limit in the fast lane"

The difference is the Camery will let you know you're going 100mph. Hell, the S2000 feels like I'm sitting on my sofa at 100mph.

For those who think driving a high-powered sports car is no different than an economy car in terms of speeds and behaviors, you have a narrow mind of a 2 yr-old child. Besides documented studies, it is just common sense to know that high-powered sports cars tolerate much higher speeds and make the drivers feel like they are going at much slower speeds. Furthermore, when one is in a sports car, one has a tendency to push it harder than if in a slow economy car. True, all cars can reach a certain speed, like 100 mph, but you have to expand your minds a little to think beyond that mere, worthless fact. When you put a young guy (or even some girls) in a slow economy car then a sports car, his behaviors in those two different cars can be night and day. I'm not young, yet I still have such tendency, we all have.

A shame, but I can think of worse ways to go. She was probably scared for one second, then impact, then nothing. Probably never felt a thing....

poor girl!!! Its so sad to see something like this happen to someone so young! RIP. I had a friend that also passed away this way. he lost control of his LS400 and hit a tree at about 100 mph. most of us never think of what can happen at those speeds and yet we ride on the highway going 70-80 mph every day . Im sure most of you have hit 100 mph on a public road so dont be so quick to judge the girl.
