Hey Dark_Sub_Rosa, you don't need to use Grab for capturing screenshots. Apple's built that functionality into the OS for as long as I can remember.

Just press CMD-SHIFT-3

CMD-SHFT-3 works for me. Additionally, you can use CMD-SHFT-4 to get crosshairs, and screenshot only a cropped section of your display.

Under OS X it should create a PDF file called "Picture 1" (or Picture 2, etc if Picture 1 already exists) containing your screenshot. You can open this in Preview and export out a JPG from there.
