Hey I am farmer, not of potatoes but of plants, and believe me it is anything but boring. I got my degree in Biology with a math minor, yet I ended up a farmer. There is always something new to learn.

It is a simpler life than some, but the hours can be long. But I do call all my own shots. I am not going to get rich, but heck I could pay cash for my S2000. Couldn't be happier.

It would be a great way to have an endless supply of ammunition for all my potato guns!

We've got plenty of ammo for your potato guns here, XViper. Idaho is, afterall, known for famous potatos. I worked on farms when I was in high school, I wouldn't have minded being a farmer. You're outside all summer and you've got all winter to snowmobile!

The deep fry would be a little too much for me.

How about the guy that is responsible for crushing the potatoes at In and Out to make the frys? No heavy machinery just a potatoe and a simple press.

Or, you what about the guy that holds the slow sign during road construction?

If I wanted a simpler life, farming would not be on the list...I know too many farmers/ranchers and I've never gotten the impression it's easy or relaxing!

But I do think it's be fun to "retire" into a racing career

potato farming might not be that easy when you look at all the bugs and blights etc that can have an adverse effect on your crop!

My idea of a simple life would be to be a taxi driver in England.
