Actually, I watched a friend of mine spend the better part of an afternoon launch dropped crab apples and pears into the CT River with his "weapon of mashed destruction". A very impressive toy, indeed!

 

Man, you guys in the rest of the US have too much fun. I've never heard of a potato gun, and I've lived in LA all my life.

I shot mine off a few weeks ago. What fun. Try shooting one strait up. BTW, Aqua Net hair spray has propane in it...

ether is the best. waaaay better than hairspray. we ended up blowing the end cap right off.

 

We used starter fluid as a fuel is ours when we were kids. I had the end cap blow off one with so much force it cracked a sliding glass door in the apartment we lived in.

 

I made one for my brother as a birthday present. Painted it black primer. That was so much fun. We used right gaurd. No sticky mess and it smelled good too! We launced several 100 yards and more.
