When I was in high school, myself and some fellow miscreants used to take the spud gun and a trunkload of potatoes, hairspray, and $2.49/case Rhinelander beer to an old abandoned church and try to ring the bell from the parking lot.

Do any of you guys know if these things are legal in Australia?

I made one this weekend and I must say they rock!

I live in a top floor apartment on the river and it easily shoots half way across the river. (200 yards)

A nice but dangerous trick is to fire gasoline soaked rags out of it.

What's a "zip gun"? I want one whatever it is.

Couple things being a complete spud gun fanatic with a few stored away in the garage.

never and I mean never use white pvc. They make gigh preasure stuff much better will not blow up and make lots of shapnel under your arm. Ask Me How I know

Two a zip gun is a hidden wqeapen more then likly in a pen that shots a single bullet or projectile, they are for all intensive purpose illegal in just about every part of the world as a home made projectile weapon.

Never use a old potato gun if it has been sitting around more then 12 months, and not used. the plasitic will get very very brittle and will shrapnel.

Look up plans on the internet I will not provide them, stay simple and use hair spray for power for the first few.

You can build some killer accesories for your potato gun, do you know they shot a 15-20 foot flame out the front if you know what you ar doing. If you get real crazy you can do what I do whicih is drill 1/8 inch holes in a spiral pattern coming back for the tip of the barrel about 2 feet. Then you get a m16 like effect fo 2 foot flames leeping in a ring of circle around the barrel every time you fire.

another trick is to mount the igniter in rear chamber cap. It is a lot thinker plastic and can be replaced if you crack the igniter, make sure to let you glue dry as well.

Potato guns are legal in california from what I understand as long as the missle is vegatable and not on fire. This as checked last 3 ears ago so it might have changed.

For real fun after you stuff your potato down the berral add about 5 onzes of powdered creamer and then throw about 2 onzes of 180 proof clear water down after it, you can shot a flaming potato about 350 yards with a sparkler trail that flases back when the potato hits the ground.
