I haven't driven the Sh myself, but being in the car you still get a damn good feel for everything a sports car should give you. We all know Honda gearboxes are the best, so no talk there. But from what I hear, despite it being a FWD car, the Sh behaves VERY neutrally and handles with RWD ability. I can vouch for cutting corners. My friend bought one, and after break in, he tore that car up...it slices through corners better than anything I've ever driven, and has no under/oversteer at all. It just turns when and where you want it to. I think it'll always be a great car. My opinion, it'll be like the Integra or NSX. Great design that will compete for ages to come, but in about 5 years, won't have that #1 spot that it holds now.

By the way...I'm looking at those too...but the cost is close enough to the S2K to justify the S...so that's where I back off and go low end with Civic Si thoughts.

I love it.

I prefer the appearance of 4th generation Preludes but the SH is supposed to corner much better.

The 2.2 L VTEC in the SH is a gem. Same torque as the S2000 and 200 ponies. My '93 VTEC Prelude has essentially the same engine (but only 190 hp) and it has been bullet-proof.

The Prelude is a far more practical car than the S2000 BUT it is not an S2000. It has better snow and wet handling stock. It can pull a trailer and in a pinch it can carry four.

It does not accelerate as well or corner as well as the S2000 and it is a pain to take off the hard top, to say the least.

I owned a 1998 SH before this. Great car, fairly fast, i ran a best of 14.754 with it aided by some tailwind. Can do 14.8s - 14.9s all day. Very comfortable as well, i took it for a 17 hour straiht drive all the way to north Carolina only stopping twice for food and gas.

Fun to drive, built strong and makes a good all around car, handling is fairly neutral and it does have exceptional cornering grip for a FWD.

However, it feels a little heavy and its, agility is compremised as well because of size and weight ...

It depends what you are looking for:

If you are looking all perfromance: Go ITR
If you are looking for a good blend of everything go SH.

There is a little more info on my OLD page:

An SH with the OEM underbody spoiler kit... perfect. You have good taste in cars, Sev. It's either the Prelude SH with kit and leather or the S2000 for me right now.

Barry, I checked out your website. You do some great work and I admire what you've done so far in your life as doctor! As well as your taste in cars. Being from Wyoming, I would think you'd be more into the Jeep-type thing, but alas, you drive an S2000.

But I was wondering... I'm dealing with a cold right now and it sucks staying at home on a Saturday night.

I caught the cold while overseas and the 10 hour flight didn't help any. I felt better once I got back, but not completely better I headed to the gym like I usually do 5-6 times a week.

Now, I still have a stuffy nose and feel a bit tired. What's a good way to make sure I get out of this cold? Were the workouts a detriment to my recovery? Thanks, Doc.

It's the ugliest car Honda has ever produced.
The previous generation of prelude was very nice.
But again, look might not be everything for a car.......
It is a major factor in my book, though.

Not nearly as ugly as a Flyingpig.

FlyingPig isn't a car.
I don't know how you compared.
Anyway, Pigs are pretty ugly for an animal.
Current prelude is very ugly for a car.
At least it's not extremly ugly like the Z3......

Just sold my 99 SH today. It's a great car. But too similar in size and utility to the S2K for my needs. In addition I found it to be a very hard car to sell. Probably the most difficult Honda. In fact Honda has sold only a few more preludes than s2k's this year. Not because they aren't making a lot of them, its just that nobody is buying them. The Accord coupe has drastically outsold the Prelude, and it has a 200 HP V6.
