Problem With My Internet Connection Need Help Please... 2 Scooby Snacks If You Help!
I've been quite happy with my 56K dial up. My brother installs a new DSL modem and Linksys wireless router. He says it will help me pic whore faster... I go and buy a Linksys wireless PCMCIA card and install. Fire up my laptop and while there's connection, I can not open any pages. I uninstall the card and its drivers and today when I connect via my 56K dialup, the connection goes through but I cannot access, see or browse any pages. I've called my ISP and they couldn't help either. I type in www.S2ki.com and all it reads... "The page cannot be displayed" Please help! I'm using my colleagues PC now
Try clicking on tools in IE, then click on internet options, then connections on the bottom you will see Lan settings. After that check automatically detect settings. "Don't quote me though I aint shit."
Thanks ST, it's working again. Here's what I did...
1. Go START
2. Clicked Run
3. Entered "Regedit"
4. Clicked "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
5. Clicked "System"
6. Clicked "Current Control Set"
7. Clicked "Services"
8. Found "Winsock" and "Winsock2" files,
9. Highlighted them, clicked "EDIT"
10. Clicked "Delete"
11. Restarted laptop
Then voila... everything was back to normal
