There's no way. My PS2 runs into an optical connection in my home theater. The sound is tin. Just compare it to the real thing, man. It sounds like it was phoned in.

hey sunchild,

The the buttons are analog, not digital, on the Dual Shock 2 controller. Try holding down the button with various degrees of pressure (like revving the accelerator). It works fine, but I'd rather use the right analog stick for gas/brake.

I'll add my own comments, but they aren't meant to start a flame war, just my opinion...

I will add that the sound isn't the greatest but it's good. Every car has a different engine note, and the addons change this note as well. I do agree that the sound is a little "tinny" but it is to a good degree, accurate.
I got the PS2 connected to my home theater as well through the digital optical connector to my Denon AVR4800 and Klipsch KLF 30's and it sounds excellent! At least every car has a different engine note! not like alot of the other games I know!

Aft3rburn:

I can't really flame on one side or the other, since I own both PS2 and DC and like them both for different reasons.

I just made this thread to give a balanced review of GT3. It's still lots of fun. The biggest problem is that my girlfriend doesn't like it.

Also, Sunchild, you can switch the TCS/ASC off in the options menu. This made a big difference when using the wheel, and a moderate difference using the dualshock.

Quick question, Does GT3 have a widescreen/16:9 mode? I know some games on the PS2 do have this mode (At least when using component cables.

Anyone have a list of which games do have this mode?
