Default Proper way to make a left turn at an intersection

What do you think is the proper way to make a left turn at an intersection? Explain why you chose your answer. There's a correct way to do it, do you make proper lefts?

according to california driver's handbook, the first method is correctly. unfortunately, if you do that on actual roads, the car behind you WILL honk you till you move into the intersection.

When I arrive at an intersection, everyone should get the hell outta my way so I can make my left turn.

That's the proper way.

JUST FREAKIN' KIDDING!!

I go half way to the middle. A) it certainly makes it easier to turn if there is traffic, but B) I won't be stranded in the middle when the light turns like all those stupid jackasses I see turning once the light is red.

let's see, approach the turn going 45-50 mph. heel/toe downshift into second. quick turn in, let the ass hang out just a little and bone out for the next road.

no, I always wait in the intersection as long as I can get in before the light turns red. I guess the idea is that at least one car should be able to pass after it turns red.

Driver's ed. (Ohio) taught me to enter the intersection. Just don't block other traffic. Turn when you can or if the light turns red, then turn. Vehicles must wait for the intersection to clear before they enter. It works well and seems to get the most cars through.

Pull into the intersection, don't have your wheels pointed into traffic, that way if you are rear ended, you don't go flyng into oncoming traffic
