PSP. How do you like it?
Now that they've been out for a good amount of time, and you've had a chance to use it for a while, how do you like them? I see that movies on the UMD's are going for about $13.50 at Sam's Club. Are they worth it?
I don't own one, but here's my OWN OPINION about it
PSP = portable gamer - who does that anymore? Does anyone actually still play games on the fly? Enough to spend that much money?
PSP = music player - yeah, a big, bulky one - my 1gig mp3 player is the size of a TIC TAC box
PSP = movie player - horray, I have over 200 dvds and it plays NONE of them - but my nice 17" widescreen laptop with harmon kardon sound does.
PSP = browser - does this thing even have WiFi? (besides the sony system that doesn't work with any wireless router)

Yeah, let's hear some more reviews. The whole UMD thing, in place of a standard DVD, seems like a disaster to me. But heck, Sony is still pushing Memory Stick too.
I think more convergence is coming and the PSP is another step on the path. PalmOne will push their Lifedrive system (3+ GB) as a combined Ipod/Palm thing soon. The Tapwave Zodiac is an older Palm/Gaming system (why don't OTHER Palms have a joystick?). The latest phones are piling up features pretty fast (DSL-speed data connection on Verizon's VCAST).
The Windows CE devices (Dell X50v = yummy) always have promise but batteries have to keep improving (fuel cells?). Once you start converging enough functions (especially phone & PDA) is is NOT okay for the device to only work for less than 8 hours before needing a recharge or a massive battery pack.
What I find funny is how one person really needs WiFi and another couldn't care less. Same for Bluetooth and other stuff. Nobody wants to pay for features that don't use.

and it works with any memory pro duo, sony has licensed sandisk and others to produce them.
hopefully you can see one in action before you make a decision.
