Elaboration for AP1, being able to have a multimedia machine with PS2 quality games at your fingertips and the ability to wi-fi multiplayer at anytime has been a blast. Beats lugging around a console system and scrounging monitors to play on anyday. I plan to get my Tivo homemedia app working so I can transfer all the races I've recorded so I can view 'em at work during downtime.
well psp has been out for nearly 2 months now. and it lacks the title.
i mean launch titles were great... but theres hardly and new hits.
ridge racers and lumines and wipe out were fun. but thats it.

ANother uneducated opinion.......
I don't own one and they are expensive, but if I had a job with tons of airtravel I would buy one of those before I bought good luggage. It seems like the greatest portable entertainment package ever made, but I am always near home or work so I don't need portable.
As for XBOX vs PSII I sold my PS2 for an Xbox. Was such a believer in PS2 until I was converted to Xbox and let me tell you it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. It is simply a more powerful machine although SOny has some nice exclusive titles. For that reason I will probably go Xbox 360 over PS3. The "claimed" processing power of the forthcoming Xbox 360 is mindboggling for a game machine.

I own a PS2 and an XBox precisely because I was tired of messing up my real PC with the latest strictly-for-games drivers or spending big $$$ on the latest video card (e.g. for Doom 3). I also think the XBox has an edge over the PS2 in terms of graphics and sound but the difference is slight. The quality of a particular game makes a much bigger difference (a good game on PS2 beats the crap out of a crappy XBox title). That's why I own both systems. There are games that rock on each.
So knowing PC > *.* doesn't mean much to me. Last PC game I just had to have was Half Life 2.

PC games..
Better graphics, sound, selection, playability (ie. multiplayer), etc.
How often do you have to get a new gaming console? Say 3-5 years. Comps can be named "obsolete" very quickly, however if you spend enough for a great system, you basically get what you pay for for the 3-5 years you would on a gaming console. Consider it the higher end of gaming consoles (since you have to pay more, but you get all the goodies). But in the end, it's whatever floats your boat. I am not even much of a gamer anymore. Damn poker.
