Im looking to purchase a digital camera in the next few days and I need some advice in what to look for in a camera. Also, if you guys know of any deals going on right now or any cameras that you suggest please post them here. I am not looking to spend more than 380.

Good camera! I just bought the sony p10, there very close. Our camera technician recommended them highly.

Check out circuitcity or compusa. They are selling the camera you are interested for less.

the sony P10 is sweet. Also check out the Nikon 4300 and the Fuji S5000 (10x zoom!) The Canon A80 is also very nice.

I just got the 4300 Nikon and love it! the pictures are beautiful!

We have a Nikon Coolpix 5700 - 8x optical zoom, 5MP, selling for $650 or so online. The Canon EOS Digital Rebel is another good 5MP camera, using EOS lenses so you get versatility. Liebernoodle was right-on about dpreview.com - great unbiased reviews of the latest/greatest digicams. Good luck and let us know what you get!

My roommate has that exact camera. Its awesome! I have an older DSC-P3 and it has served me well.

Friend of mine just got the P10 and she loves it!

So I'm definitely a big fan of the Sony cameras.

 

I bought a Canon Digital Elph S200 - 2 megapixel camera couple of years ago and have been very happy with it. The newest generation of this camera is the Canon Digital Elph S400 - 4.0 MegaPixel w/3x optical zoom. I have heard very good reviews about this camera and it can be had for below $400. The Digital Elph series from Canon has been very popular and there are many peripherals available for it at very reasonable prices. e.g., water proof camera case that is good for depth greater than 100ft for less than $150.
