Ok, here are 2 photos of my closet taken the exact same way with both my first and second S3. I used the same exact settings and the exif are the same. Check out the exif. Click on "All Sizes" for max resolution.

Closet photo taken with FIRST S3 - blurriness on bottom and right.

Closet photo taken with SECOND S3 - blurriness on top.

I've taken the same shots multiple times with both cameras and got the exact same results every time (e.g. same blurriness in same respective locations).

According to your shots you are using f2.7, which can be the problem, especially at a focal length of 6mm. Try setting your aperature to f8, and nothing should be blurry.

You're right, I should have closed up the aperture, but right now, I've no S3 to take shots with. However, the point is, I had the exact same settings for both cameras and took the same shots repeatedly and got blurriness in their respective areas every time. It should be blurry in the same area, if it's purely an aperture issue.

this is just stupid. Take a few shots with a small aperture, and see what you get. Don't take a picture of crap lying around your room, go outside and take a picture of a building down the street or something. There isn't enough light in your room to give any idea of the ability of the camera to focus properly. You need a small aperture to give you a wide depth of field, and you won't get that inside.

Thanks for offering your input. Like I have stated, I don't have an S3 on me right now. The newspaper is a good test since we're all familiar with the alphabet and our brains can detect easily whether there is a blur or not in the print, plus it's a flat surface. I'll try out a wide variety of shots once I get the second replacement.
