Question about aircondition in my house
so me and my friend jimmy decided to lay some flooring in the attic so we could have some storage. This is a brand new house so the aircondition isnt old or anything.
anyway while we were up there we didnt hit anywirs im positive of that. The only thing that we did concerning the central air system was move one of the silver round ducts...ya know those things that are all bendy that just route the air through the house...well about a hour later when we came out the attic we smelt somethign burning like as if we had turned on the heater or something....
well later on in the day me and my roomates started to realize it was really hot. Then we realized that the vents were blowing hot air. I went up into the attic to see if somethign was ****ed up but the air thing was cold to touch and the aircondition outside the house was spinning and we had it set on cool/fan and at 65 but it was like 81 degrees in the house and wouldnt go out....so basically we turned everything off and opened all the windows and turned on all the fans and all slept in the living room since it has high celings...
so does anyone know what we could have done to **** this thing up or anything we can do to fix it....The filter is dirty and I plan to change it but I dont see why all of a sudden it would affect it. Maybe we kicked up alot of insulation but I didnt see any lodged in the filter just dirt....
anyone know what it might be?? or somethign that i should check??
hopefully someone can help cause not having an aircontion in louisiana sucks.

Here's a couple of things to check:
1) The condensing unit outside the house has two copper tubes going into the house. With the AC on and the condenser unit fan running, the larger tube should feel cool/cold to the touch. The smaller diameter tube should feel warm/hot/very hot to the touch. If this is not the case you likely have a freon leak. If this is O.K., go inside the house and locate the evaporator unit (usually in a small closet near the filter).
2) There are two copper tubes (the same ones as outside the house) that go into the evaporator (aka "A-Coil"). The smaller one should be hot and the larger tube should be cold, with the AC running. If not the "expansion valve/expansion orifice" may be at fault.
If item 1 and 2 are O.K. there are a couple of other possibilities.
3) The heater portion of you central AC unit may utilize electric heating elements. It is possible that the AC and Heater are both on at the same time. This could be caused by a faulty thermostat. Or, your central AC/Heater system may be a "heat pump". A heat pump is essentially an AC system running backwards. If the heat pump is running in reverse (heater mode) the large tubing will be hot and the small tubing will be cold. The likely cause of this problem is the thermostat.
4) You disconnected one or more of the ducts from the plenum in the attic. In this case cold air is escaping into the attic and warm air from the attic is entering the remaining ducts/diffusers.
5) If your house is built on a slab the copper tubes are usually run in the concrete slab, but if your copper tubes are run in the attic, you may have pinched one of the tubes, causing a restriction which could be the cause of the warm air.
6) Some AC systems have a flap that directs the flow of air over the evaporator coil or closes off the evaporator coil and directs the flow over the heating elements. If the flap is directing air flow over the heating elements (even if they are turned off) rather than the evaporator coil, the air coming out of the diffusers will be hot.
I hope this helps.

ok what it was is that the wire was pinched to the point that the white heater wire was picking up voltage from the ac wire...and 125 bucks later thats what the guy said and he wrapped it in the electricle tape.
1 cent for the tape 124.99 dollars for him knowing what it was...vultures
